Staff

Volunteering Tasmania has a small team of skilled and committed staff, all working to make a positive change to our community through the facilitation of effective volunteering.

Our state office is based in Hobart, however, we operate around the state with a number of staff located in other regions.

We have maintained Employer of Choice status since 2011, and our workplace culture is based on the Volunteering Tasmania values.

We’re seeking a dedicated Sector Development Coordinator to join our highly skilled and passionate team. This pivotal role drives Volunteering Tasmania’s offerings by nurturing a robust, capable, and sustainable volunteering community in Tasmania through evidence-based initiatives.

THE ROLE

The Sector Development Coordinator is responsible for managing and delivering the sector development workplan which includes, but is not limited to:

  • Building capacity and capability of volunteer involving organisation to recruit, manage and retain volunteers using practices aligned with the National Standards for Volunteer Involvement.
  • Coordinating and delivering best practice support sessions and activities for volunteer involving organisations.
  • Facilitating and participating in networks to build the capacity of volunteer involving organisations to access online resources, tools and training.
  • Identifying areas for skills development and capacity building for volunteering involving organisations.
  • Evaluating and continually improving offerings based on sector input and feedback.
  • Utilising VTs best practice framework to ensure an evidence-based approach to sector development offerings.
