The Volunteering Tasmania Self-Audit Tool will help you get a better understanding of how well your volunteer program is meeting the National Standards for Volunteer Involvement and provides you with an insight into how your volunteers rate your volunteer program.

Why use Volunteering Tasmania Self-Audit Tool?

The Self-Audit Tool is quick and easy to use, for you and your volunteers. Both you and your volunteers will be asked to answer a series of questions based on the National Standards for Volunteer Involvement. All answers will be collected in a report that you receive by email and that you can access here in the Member Portal.

The National Standards for Volunteer Involvement are developed to help organisations apply best practice volunteer management.

You don’t need to develop your own survey or evaluation process. The Self-Audit Tool provides you with the resources you need to do an audit of your volunteer program now, and in the future.

Tips for your volunteer engagement strategy

The Self-Audit Tool will not only provide you with an understanding of how well you and your volunteers currently think you are tracking against the National Standards for Volunteer Involvement; it will also provide you with tips to improve your volunteer engagement strategy.

Your report

After completing your own questionnaire, you will receive a report summarising your answers. Your volunteers will also receive a report each of their answers. When you are ready, you can generate a report showing the combined results of the volunteer managers’ and volunteers’ questionnaires. An average score per National Standard for Volunteer Involvement will be calculated to provide you with a rating of your volunteer program. You may like to discuss the insights gained from these reports with other volunteer management staff and/or your volunteers, during a workshop or meeting.

Monitoring your impact

After six and twelve months you will receive an email inviting you to re-do the self-audit. This way you can track how well your volunteer program is doing over time. The first report can be used as a benchmark, and by using the tips and resources provided in your report, you will hopefully see an increase in your scores over time. Good luck!

After you have completed your own questionnaire, click here to generate a link to share with your volunteers, for them to complete a volunteer’s questionnaire. Please note this link is unique to your organisation and to be shared with your volunteers only.

Here you can find an overview of all the volunteers that have completed the questionnaire so far. When you are happy with the number of volunteers that have completed the questionnaire, you can click the ‘Close Questionnaire Submissions’ button. This will generate a report that summarises all feedback from your volunteers in one place. You will receive this automatically by email.
